Shine Ph.D speech
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,

At the start of this year, I was an over-sensitive little girl who was broken by rejection, chased others because she wanted to feel loved, and couldn’t control her anger. By the end of this year I know that my self-love is more important than seeking love from others. I know to put effort into a relationship and get the same amount back. I know how to stand up for the things I believe in despite others’ opinions. I know that there are two paths, your own or the one others choose for you.
Now I’m someone who faces there problems instead of running away from them. I now know that some people come into your life as blessings while others come as lessons. I’ve learned that the secret to happiness is to see all the marvels of the world as quoted from the alchemist, a book I received from shine. I’ve learned, don’t let others dim ur shine tell them to put some sunglasses on as quoted by lady Gaga. Smile because life is short enjoy it while you can, all this knowledge I’m so grateful for receiving. I will carry this with me for the rest of my life. The person I have to thank for this is Miss Anderson. She has made the not so comfortable things comfortable; she has made the rocky roads so pleasurable to travel. She has always been there for me in my time of need and allowed me to comfortably share my feelings and learn and grow from my past experiences
I would also love to thank my peers. I’m so grateful to be in such a comfortable and accepting environment where you can say what you feel, share personal experiences and learn from others. I can always count on you guys for a laugh. I’ve noticed that after every shine session I come back smiling and in a positive mood, making new friends and socialising has only made shine more pleasurable. I now realise why this academy is called shine, because on Thursday nights we all really do shine.✨
