My time at Shine Academy has been an experience that I will never forget, and am extremely grateful for. Therefore, I must thank everyone who made it possible.
To start off, I’d like to thank my parents for granting me the exciting opportunity of Shine, and also supporting me through the whole program. Thank you for always asking about what I have learnt after each lesson, this really helped me reflect on useful topics and discussions.
Next, to the wonderful Miss Anderson. I’d like to thank you for your commitment in taking the time to teach me lifelong lessons that I will remember, and use with great gratitude. Your passion to help others with kindness and integrity is truly an inspiration to me that I have admired since the beginning.
It is every lesson on Thursday night, when I learn something new. Miss Anderson has enlightened me on so many valuable messages, tips, advice, and more that it would be impossible to tell you them all in one speech.
However, one of the most meaningful lessons I attended at Shine was when Miss Anderson and my classmates discussed what our discomfort muscle is, and how we use it. This taught me that the only way to improve my tolerance to uncomfortable things is to do or face them more often, and like a muscle, I can become stronger. From this lesson, I felt more empowered knowing that expanding my comfort zone is a choice made by me.
It also brought me to the realisation that Shine is not a place where you are expected to perfect every skill and ability in being the ideal leader. Shine is a place where you can embrace your own qualities, and build your knowledge to become the best version of yourself by learning from your mistakes and realising what a true role model is.
To finish off, I would like to thank my classmates. They are the ones I have learnt with, however they are also the ones I have learnt from. By being included in such a positive and welcoming class, I admire the genuine friendliness they spread and also have taken from their knowledge. I will never forget how much fun all of the games we played together were. It was because of the competitive, yet supportive spirit that made it this way. And of course, the motivation of chocolate.
I will miss Shine greatly, and I will always remember it as a significant part of becoming me.
So for the last time,
Good evening, and good night! 🙂
